Abstract
アダム・ファーガスン（1723-1816）によると、商業的アートは生活に要するモノの獲得に関わる。「商業的アート」と「商業」を同義としない用法が当時一般的であったかどうか、The Making of the Modern World (MoMW) というフルテキスト・データベースを用いて調べた結果、彼の独自性が確認された。The Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO)というフルテキスト・データベースではより多くの用法が発見された。
For Adam Ferguson (1723-1816), the “commercial arts” were concerned with the acquisition of necessities. This usage was found to be unusual by an examination of the full text database “The Making of the Modern World” (MoMW). Another database, “Eighteenth Century Collections Online” (ECCO), showed many more results.
