Abstract
本稿は、個人を対象とした独自の調査に基づき、サービス消費に関するいくつかの新しい観察事実を提示するものである。具体的には、サービス需要の構造変化、サービスの質の変化、サービスの業態間及び異時点間での代替、市場サービスと家計内サービス生産との代替について検討する。分析結果によれば、多くのサービスについて消費者は質が向上していると評価しており、サービス産業の生産性上昇率が過小評価されている可能性を示唆している。平均的にはサービスの異時点間の代替の弾力性は比較的大きいと見られ、価格設定行動を通じた需要平準化の可能性を示唆している。市場サービスの家計内サービス生産との代替関係はかなり強いが、個人特性による違いも大きい。
