Abstract
This study examines which firms adopt online meetings and teleworking to face-to-face contacts in manufacturing and wholesale industries in Japan at four time points during the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey results show that substantially more firms began using online meetings and teleworking, but significant inter-firm variations continued across industries and size classes. Firms that had been digitized or globalized before the pandemic tended to be especially active in introducing measures for reducing face-to-face contacts. These findings have deep implications for various issues, including personal work styles and corporate locations.
新型コロナウイルス感染症（以下「コロナ」と略記）の世界的拡大により様々な変化が生じているが，対面接触の削減は，個人の働き方だけでなく，企業間の取引関係や企業立地など各方面に影響を及ぼすと考えられる．我が国の製造業・卸売業における中堅・大企業に対し，コロナ以前の2019年12月，緊急事態宣言発出中の2020年4・5月，解除後の2020年9・10月，二度目の緊急事態宣言が発出された2021年1月時点におけるオンライン会議やテレワークの活用状況等を調査したところ，コロナ後に活用は総じて広がったものの，企業によって大きな違いも確認された．コロナ以前にデジタル化やグローバル化を進めていた企業の方が，これら対面接触の削減を進める傾向が見られた．
